Google Drive is a powerful cloud storage service that allows users to store, share, and access their files from anywhere. However, sometimes you may need to delete recent files from your Google Drive account to free up space or remove sensitive information. In this article, we will guide you through the process of deleting recent files in Google Drive.
Step 1: Open Google Drive
To begin, open your web browser and go to drive.google.com. If you are not already signed in, log in with your Google account credentials.
Step 2: Access the Recent Files
Once you are logged in, you will see a list of your recent files on the left-hand side of the screen. This list includes files you have opened, shared, or modified recently. To delete a recent file, click on the file you want to remove.
Step 3: Delete the File
After selecting the file, you will see a menu with various options. Click on the three dots (also known as the overflow menu) next to the file name. A dropdown menu will appear with several options, including “Delete.”
Step 4: Confirm the Deletion
When you click on “Delete,” a confirmation dialog box will appear. Review the file name and location to ensure you are deleting the correct file. If everything looks good, click “Delete” to remove the file from your Google Drive account.
Step 5: Empty the Trash
After deleting a file, it will be moved to the trash folder. To permanently delete the file and free up space, you need to empty the trash. To do this, click on the trash icon on the left-hand side of the screen. You will see a list of deleted files. Click on “Empty Trash” to remove all files from the trash folder.
