How to Delete Recents on Google Drive
Google Drive is a widely used cloud storage service that allows users to store, share, and access their files from any device. Over time, the Recents section on Google Drive can accumulate a large number of files, making it difficult to find the most important ones. If you’re looking to declutter your Google Drive and remove unnecessary files from the Recents section, this article will guide you through the process.
Step 1: Accessing the Recents Section
To begin, open Google Drive on your web browser. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on the “Recents” tab to view all the files and folders you’ve accessed recently.
Step 2: Selecting Files to Delete
In the Recents section, you’ll see a list of files and folders. To delete a file, simply click on it to select it. If you want to delete multiple files at once, you can hold down the “Ctrl” (Windows) or “Command” (Mac) key and click on each file you want to delete. Once you’ve selected the files you want to remove, click on the three dots located at the top of the screen to open the menu.
Step 3: Deleting the Files
In the menu that appears, click on “Remove.” A confirmation dialog box will pop up, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click “OK” to delete the files from your Google Drive and the Recents section.
Step 4: Clearing the Recents Section
If you want to clear the entire Recents section and remove all recent files, click on the “Clear” button located at the top of the Recents page. This will remove all files from the Recents section, but you will still have access to them in the main Google Drive folder.
Step 5: Deleting Recents from the Mobile App
If you’re using the Google Drive mobile app, the process is similar. Open the app, go to the Recents section, and select the files you want to delete. Tap the three dots to open the menu, and then tap “Remove” to delete the files. To clear the entire Recents section, tap the “Clear” button at the top of the Recents page.
By following these simple steps, you can easily delete recent files from Google Drive and keep your storage organized. Remember that deleted files are moved to the trash, so you can recover them if needed. Happy cleaning!
